Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Information and Data Resources Specialist to manage the lifecycle of mission-critical information in a DoD-classified environment. You will help ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and security while supporting data processing and analyses for national security missions.

You will apply data management principles, perform QC, and contribute to procedures and reports.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; to include relevant data processing/information management experience.
• Proficient with the Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Experience using databases to enter, search, retrieve and analyze records.
• Work history reflecting initiative with strong communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use critical thinking in managing high-value information.
• Willing to work on-site full time.
• Able to travel to sponsor facilities for at least two weeks per year.
• Eligibility to obtain Interim Secret and ultimately Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply data management principles to capture and validate metadata, organize content, prepare operational reports, and enhance search effectiveness.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the data processing lifecycle and resolve data discrepancies.
• Acquire, validate, process, store, retrieve, and distribute sponsor and customer documentation using information management systems.
• Support improvements to data processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution workflows.
