Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Scientist, Integrated Computational and Experimental Inflammation Discovery in the United States. The role focuses on combining computational biology with wet-lab experiments to advance inflammation target discovery and mechanistic understanding.

You will coordinate projects, analyze data, apply AI-enabled approaches, and present findings to teams, contributing to a culture of scientific excellence and patient-focused research.

Qualifications

  • Basic qualifications include a doctorate or, alternatively, a Master’s with 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred qualifications emphasize deep understanding of inflammation/immunology, experimental design/interpretation, and familiarity with AI-enabled tools and data integration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate defined project tasks supporting target identification and progression of inflammation discovery
  • Design, execute, analyze, and interpret bench/wet-lab studies with scientific rigor
  • Apply computational, AI-enabled, and data-analytic approaches to generate mechanistic insights
  • Integrate results with literature, human genetics, clinical observations, and datasets
  • Collaborate across functions and present scientific recommendations within teams
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to foster a collaborative scientific culture
