Job summary

Orlando Health's ORMC is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases to collaborate with ID physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize antimicrobial therapy for complex hospitalized patients.

The role includes prospective audit and feedback, involvement in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, rounding with ID teams, and education of pharmacists and trainees. A Doctor of Pharmacy and PGY-1 plus PGY-2 in ID (or equivalent) are required.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
Completion of PGY-1 Residency plus 3+ years hospital practice, or PGY-2 in Infectious Diseases preferred, or five+ years hospital practice.
BCIDP preferred or eligible.
Florida pharmacy licensure eligibility required.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with ID physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize antimicrobial therapy.
Perform prospective audit and feedback on antimicrobial use and stewardship initiatives.
Participate in ID consult rounds and provide evidence-based antimicrobial recommendations.
Support development and maintenance of antimicrobial protocols, order sets, and guidelines.
Analyze antimicrobial utilization data and contribute to antibiogram development.
Collaborate with infection prevention, microbiology, sepsis, quality, and clinical operations teams.
Mentor infectious diseases residents and students; precept learners in stewardship.
Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities related to infectious diseases.
