Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of nursing experience.
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provides initial nurse training to public health nurses for STI, TB, and OID services following nurse protocols.
  • Provides supervision, technical assistance, and consultation to public health nurses on client care plans.
  • Provides direct, professional client care in clinics and in the field when indicated.
  • Floats to all clinics to provide hands-on nursing education, training, audits, and clinical care.
  • Collaborates with Infectious Disease Coordinator and Epidemiology team.
  • Makes administrative decisions with Infectious Disease Coordinator, Nursing Director, or District Health Director when necessary.
  • Participates in development of new audit tools for STI, TB and OID programs for QA.
  • Performs chart audits and clinical evaluations of nursing staff across STI, TB and OID programs when indicated.
  • Prepares reports and surveillance activities as requested.
  • Ensures program compliance with state/federal guidelines; supports QA/QI processes.
  • Serves on the QA/QI committee and participates in monthly meetings.
  • Creates and maintains a high-performance environment with positive leadership.
  • Manages electronic health records and other digital healthcare tools.
  • Develops relationships with community partners and healthcare providers to enhance public health efforts.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support public health initiatives.
  • Actively participates as a member of Nursing Operations Team during Emergency Preparedness/Disaster/Sheltering.
