Job summary

John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI seeks an Infectious Disease physician to provide comprehensive medical care on the ID service, supervise fellows and residents, and participate in teaching activities with medical students.

The role includes leadership of the ID/Internal Medicine team, involvement in quality improvement, antimicrobial stewardship, and collaboration with pharmacists and other staff to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications

• Physician must hold US medical license (unrestricted) in any state/territory.
• Board certification in Infectious Disease is desirable.
• Experience in education and clinical leadership is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care for patients on the Infectious Diseases Service.
• Educate fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Lead and manage the ID/Internal Medicine team.
• Participate in quality improvement and infection control activities.
• Engage in outpatient and inpatient antimicrobial stewardship.
• Perform on-call duties as assigned.
