Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist to develop, implement, and manage an infection prevention program in Putnam, CT. You will analyze infection data, collaborate with Employee Health, and lead initiatives to prevent and control infectious diseases across departments.

The role emphasizes education, policy updates every three years, and coordination with hospital staff to maintain safe patient and employee environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, nursing, public health or healthcare related field required.
• Related license or certification as required (i.e. nursing license or laboratory certification).
• CIC Certification from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred. Eligibility to take certification examination within two years of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, report, prevent and control healthcare acquired infections; prepare monthly infection reports for committee.
• Develop and update infection prevention policies and procedures; ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
• Coordinate daily multidisciplinary activities related to infection prevention; educate staff and disseminate information to medical teams.
