The role emphasizes educational outreach, policy updates, and coordination with various departments, with a focus on reducing healthcare-associated infections and complying with standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field and appropriate licensure/certification.
• CIC certification is preferred; eligibility to take within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages the infection prevention program to improve patient care outcomes.
• Collaborates with Employee Health to maintain a safe environment for staff.
• Plans, presents, and documents educational programs on infection prevention and control.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, nursing, public health or healthcare related field

Nursing license or laboratory certification

CIC Certification (preferred)
