Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college and an active Illinois RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Must complete the Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification course as approved by CDC.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the infection control program to ensure compliance with JCAHO, CMS, CDC, and IDPH requirements.
• Provide staff training and information to clinical teams to prevent and control infections in residents.
• Oversee surveillance, outbreak response, and implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices.
