Overview

We are seeking an Infection Preventionist/Professional Development Coordinator to join our team!

Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of Western Massachusetts - Central Campus, located in Rochdale, MA, is a 47-bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Our patients often require additional critical care services for complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you can truly get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

This individual will work closely with medical staff, hospital leadership, and department heads to develop, implement, and evaluate the infection prevention and employee health programs. Responsibilities include monitoring infection prevention practices, employee health screening, conducting surveillance for hospital-acquired infections according to CDC definitions, and timely reporting of infections to health authorities. The role also involves developing and evaluating educational programs for staff, ensuring compliance with current standards and guidelines.

Required Skills
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required, with current, valid, and active licensure in the state of employment
  • Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques, including universal precautions
  • Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from a Vibra-approved vendor
Additional Qualifications/Skills
  • One (1) year of professional development experience preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to project a professional image and possess strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
  • Working knowledge of computer applications relevant to the role
  • Freedom from illegal drug use and effects in the workplace
