Job summary

AtlantiCare Infection Preventionist II is responsible for identifying, investigating, reporting, preventing, and controlling healthcare-associated infections across designated facilities. The role requires on-call availability for emergencies and critical results, mentoring staff, and driving infection prevention initiatives according to APIC standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required or health-related bachelor’s degree.
• Certification by CBIC required upon hire or transfer.
• Minimum four years of clinical experience with two years in epidemiology and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Lead or facilitate key infection prevention initiatives and act as a change agent.
• Coordinate project and program leadership in infection prevention.
• Complete surveillance process design and external reporting with data validation.
• Mentor and educate staff across departments on infection prevention best practices.
• Provide internal consultations with leadership for inter-departmental projects and new initiatives.
