Job summary

UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA, is hiring a Full Time Infection Preventionist to oversee surveillance, prevention, and education across the hospital. You will lead infection control initiatives, analyze data, and collaborate with clinical teams to prevent healthcare-associated infections.

The role requires CIC preferred, RN or related degree, and at least two years of infection control experience or completion of an infection prevention fellowship; day shifts with on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred.
• Experience: 2 years in infection prevention or completion of Infection Prevention Fellowship.
• Proficient computer skills and data management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate implementation of infection prevention policies across hospital departments.
• Provide leadership for interdisciplinary teams to control hospital infections.
• Identify trends via surveillance data and develop risk-reduction strategies.
• Conduct construction/renovation rounds to ensure infection control compliance.
• Serve on the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and report to Hospital Epidemiology.
