Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks an Infection Control Practitioner to lead hospital-wide surveillance and prevention efforts. You will analyze data, identify high-risk patients, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement infection control measures.

The role includes staff education, policy compliance, and active participation in the Infection Control Committee. A nursing or medical technology background with relevant certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Medical Technology or MPH.
• RN licensure or Medical Technology Certification preferred.
• CIC certification preferred or pursued within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Develops surveillance methods, analyzes and reports data to infectious disease teams.
• Identifies high-risk patients and coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintains surveillance documentation per CDC/NHSN standards.
• Participates in infection control activities and PI initiatives.
• Ensures policy compliance and staff education on infection prevention.
