Job Summary

The Infection Preventionist conducts organization-wide surveillance, reporting of communicable diseases to public health, monitors environment for infection prevention and control risks, and provides educational/in-service activities that support the organization-wide infection control program, including inpatient and ambulatory.

Pay Range

Pay Range Minimum $104,832 Midpoint $138,902 Maximum $172,973 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

• Experience * Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience * Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in infection control & epidemiology.

Education

• Education * Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, lab/health science, public health or related health field. If RN Certification in Infection Control, then BSN required within three years of hire.

Training

• Training * Required: Knowledge of Joint Commission, CDC, CAL OSHA, CDPH standards for infection prevention and control.
