Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking an Infection Preventionist / Employee Health Coordinator to lead the infection control program and oversee employee health processes across our facilities. You will align CMS, TJC, CDC, and OSHA guidelines with hospital policies while analyzing infection data to identify trends and risks.

The role requires clinical knowledge, strong collaboration with teams, and a commitment to patient safety and employee well-being across a nationwide inpatient rehabilitation network.

Qualifications

• CPR/ACLS/BLS credentials may be required or preferred.
• Post-secondary health-related education is expected.
• CIC certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Direct the infection control program and employee health coordination.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and state/federal standards.
• Analyze infection data to identify trends and risk factors.
• Manage employee health records and new hire health processes.
• Conduct in-service programs related to employee wellness.

Be the Infection Preventionist / Employee Health Coordinator you always wanted to be

• Direct the managerial functions of our Infection Control Program.
• Assure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines.
• Analyze hospital infection data to identify trends, clusters, risk factors and variances.
• Manage hospital policies consistent with applicable infection control guidelines and standards.
• Perform surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
• Maintains all appropriate employee health records and develops policies.
• Conducts in-service programs related to employee wellness.
• Manages new hire employee health process.

Qualifications

• License or Certification:
  • CPR certification (ACLS preferred); Basic Life Support (CPR) instructor certification preferred.
  • Current license or certification applicable to health-related field.
• Education and Experience:
  • Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology.
• Demonstrated knowledge or job experience in Workers' Compensation law and OSHA regulations.
• Training in infection control and/or epidemiology.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred.
• 1 year experience in a clinical setting in field of practice.
• If Registered Nurse, CRRN certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital infection control practice preferred.
