Job summary

University City Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse for a full-time position in Philadelphia. The role leads infection prevention and control efforts to protect residents and staff, with an all-inclusive annual salary between $79,000 and $115,000.

Responsibilities include identifying infection trends, collaborating with leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering staff education to uphold high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control.
• CIC certification preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report trends in healthcare-associated infections to support timely intervention and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with facility leadership, clinical teams, and staff to implement and sustain effective infection prevention and control practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve resident and staff safety.
• Provide staff with education and training on infection prevention practices to ensure awareness and adherence to established protocols.
• Participate in the facility’s Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) committee to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Conduct surveillance activities, audits, and assessments to monitor infection control effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert on infection prevention guidance across the organization.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to educate and influence staff at all levels.
