Job summary

Heron’s Key in Gig Harbor, WA seeks a Staff Development Coordinator & Infection Preventionist to organize, plan, assess, develop, and direct staff development and infection control programs. The SDC supports the Director of Nursing to deliver high-quality, safe resident care in compliance with rules for skilled nursing and assisted living environments.

The role requires active RN/LPN licensure in WA, at least three years in long-term care, and strong leadership in staff development and infection

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in Washington.
• Minimum of three years experience in long-term care.
• Experience in staff development and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff development programs and education.
• Direct infection prevention initiatives and audits.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and care teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and floor coverage when needed.
• Maintain records of training, competencies and certifications.
• Coordinate onboarding and ongoing competency assessments.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
