The role requires a clinical or public health background with experience in hospital infection prevention and knowledge of epidemiology, reporting, and prevention measures. This position emphasizes patient safety and continuous improvement in infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a medical science related field or equivalent
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and graphic tools
• Two years hospital infection prevention experience preferred
• Completion of CDC or APIC infection prevention training desirable
• Working knowledge of statistics and epidemiology desirable

Responsabilités

• Collects and analyzes infection data for surveillance and prevention.
• Investigates unusual infections and clusters to identify sources.
• Prepares reports for Infection Prevention Committee and health department reporting.
• Identifies environmental infection hazards and recommends control measures.
• Serves as consultant on patient placement, isolation, and infection risk reduction.
• Conducts orientation and in-service education on infection prevention.
