Job summary

Prestige Care Center of Fairfield seeks a compassionate Infection Prevention and Nursing Scheduler to join our nurse management team. This 73-bed skilled nursing facility in Fairfield, IA, will lead infection prevention practices and the nursing schedule in collaboration with the DON.

The role requires an LPN/RN with 3+ years of experience, licensure in Iowa, and specialized infection prevention training. A retention bonus and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or LPN/RN program graduate.
• Three years of experience as an LPN/RN.
• Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs.
• Must meet state requirements for licensure and have no disciplinary action.
• Education/training or certification in infection control and prevention.
• Completed specialized infection prevention and control training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility employee schedules per state, company, and facility guidelines to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Coordinate, report, and post hourly staff schedules; notify relevant personnel of call-ins; maintain attendance records.
• Develop and implement ongoing infection prevention and control programs to prevent the spread of infections.
• Establish facility-wide systems for prevention, reporting, investigation, and control of infections and communicable diseases.
• Develop written policies and procedures in line with current infection prevention standards.
• Oversee the facility's antibiotic stewardship program.
• Monitor infection risk areas (catheters, wounds, incontinence, skin care, point-of-care testing, injections).
• Lead Infection and Prevention Control Committee; create action plans for improvements.
• Participate in QAA Committee and other duties as assigned.
• Execute annual infection control risk assessments and facility assessments.
• Review and revise infection prevention programs to align with best practices.
