The role requires coordinating with nursing and medical staff to meet federal, state, and local standards. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, evaluating and monitoring surveillance data; educating patients and families; and conducting investigations into infections or trends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and oversee the infection prevention and control program in accordance with current regulations and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities.
• Ensure that all nursing services personnel follow established infection prevention and control practices and aseptic techniques when caring for residents.
• Establish, implement and monitor data collection tools for process and outcome surveillance.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide education
• Conduct special investigations pertaining to new or significant trends in infections or communicable diseases
• Other duties as assigned

Introduction:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Infection PreventionistRegistered Nurse to join our team and provide high-quality care to ourpatients. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the facility infection prevention and control program andits activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern such programs. The successful candidatewill have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaborativelywith other healthcare professionals.

Shift Requirements:

• 3-4 daysper week. This position can be combined with hours as a Charge Nurse to become a full time position
• Partof the RN On Call Rotation, on call every 7th weekend.
