Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse to oversee the Infection Control Program within a long-term care setting in Illinois. You will collect and analyze data, develop and monitor plans of care, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a four-year college with one year of health care or long-term care experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as an RN or an LPN in the facility's state(s).
• Completion of an approved Infection Preventionist course or attainment within 30 days of employment.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of infection control practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure infection control procedures follow company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with all disciplines within the facility.
• Maintain infection log and oversee antibiotic stewardship program.
• Educate staff on infection control practices and participate in QA and staff meetings.
• Assist with planning and coordination of infection control activities and program evaluation.
• Lead and supervise to create a positive working atmosphere and promote resident well-being.
