Job summary

Avamere Rehab of Clackamas in Gladstone, OR is seeking an Infection Preventionist RN for a part-time, 20-hour/week day shift. The role develops and monitors infection prevention programs, educates staff, and investigates outbreaks to minimize HAIs and protect residents and staff.

Responsibilities include surveillance, outbreak management, staff training, compliance audits, and collaboration with nursing and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license to practice in Oregon, BSN preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required/maintained during employment.
• CIC preferred credential.
• Experience with infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of CMS, State and Federal regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs.
• Educate staff on infection prevention practices and conduct in-service trainings.
• Investigate outbreaks and conduct surveillance to minimize HAIs.
• Perform regular facility inspections and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical director, and administrative teams to maintain standard precautions and response plans.
