Job summary

West State Street nursing center seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead the IPCP, educate staff, and coordinate infection control across locations. The role emphasizes prevention, surveillance, and outbreak management, with a focus on staff health and program integrity.

Requirements include RN licensure, 3+ years nursing experience, and completion of infection prevention training within 90 days of hire. Flexible hours are required to meet staff and program needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure by the State Board; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of three years full-time nursing experience.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional non-standard schedules.

Responsibilities

• Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training for newly hired employees.
• Create and implement education programs in response to identified infection control needs identified through QAPI, rounding, center quality measures, or other means.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the IPCP to ensure the quality of patient care as it relates to the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases within the nursing center.
