Nexus Health Management is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to develop and monitor infection prevention practices and ensure resident safety. You will identify risks, lead prevention initiatives, and support regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include skincare and wound care as part of comprehensive patient plans, plus educating residents, families, and staff on wound care, nutrition, hydration, turning, and repositioning for healing.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois is required.
• Understanding infection prevention principles and regulations is necessary.
• Excellent communication and education skills are essential.
• Professional experience as an Infection Control Nurse is preferred.

Position Overview:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices to protect residents, staff, and visitors. This role promotes a safe healthcare environment by identifying infection risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading infection prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• As an infection control/wound care nurse, you will provide primary skincare to residents.
• You will identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders, primary and secondary lesions, and decubitus ulcers.
• You will participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• You will educate family, staff, and residents about the importance of nutrition, skin barriers, hydration, turning, and repositioning to promote wound healing.
