Job summary

Casper Mountain Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) to lead the facility's infection prevention program and ensure compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and Wyoming health regulations.

The role collaborates with the Director of Nursing, medical staff, and leadership to reduce healthcare-associated infections, educate staff, and maintain survey readiness, safeguarding residents, visitors, and employees through proactive surveillance and prevention

Qualifications

• Active Wyoming RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in healthcare settings.
• Infection Prevention Certification (CIC) preferred or obtainable.
• Knowledge of CMS, CDC, OSHA guidelines and long-term care regulations.
• Experience with infection surveillance and QA/QI initiatives.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with EMR and infection surveillance reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Conduct surveillance and trend infections and outbreaks.
• Investigate outbreaks and implement interventions.
• Educate staff on infection prevention and PPE.
• Lead infection control rounds and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Report diseases to health departments.
• Coordinate immunization programs.
• Participate in QAPI initiatives.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Serve as infection prevention resource for all departments.
