Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital, a Trinity Health facility in Waterbury, CT, seeks an Infection Control Nurse to oversee programs and support hospital-wide infection prevention. You will manage investigations of exposures, develop policies, and lead in-services with department leaders to ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds CT RN license, BSN, 5 years acute care experience, and CIC certification; EPIC/Midas experience preferred. On-site, full-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• RN license for CT and BSN required.
• 5 years of recent acute care experience.
• IC certification (C.I.C.) by APIC after training and experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA, TJC regulations and related standards.
• Experience with EPIC, Midas, Medmined, NHSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Infection control services to patients and staff across ages.
• Lead epidemiological investigations of exposures and outbreaks.
• Develop and implement infection control policies and QA activities.
• Present infection control in-services with leadership and Education Dept.
• Assist in reducing sharps injuries and safety issues.
• Identify risks and work with managers on corrective actions.
