• 10 years recent nursing, public health or laboratory experience required.
• 5–6 years Infection Prevention experience required.
• 1 year Supervisory Experience preferred.
• Virginia RN license upon hire and CIC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manage infection prevention surveillance, data abstraction and analysis, regulatory reporting, and staff education.
• Plan, direct, and evaluate infection prevention services; perform root cause analysis, risk assessments, and outbreak investigations.
• Monitor budget for defined areas; complete variance reviews and action plans based on the departmental budget.
• Respond to suggestions and concerns from patients, visitors, staff, and leadership.
• Assist in the professional development of Infection Preventionists through guidance and teaching; attend professional meetings and collaborate with leadership.
• Ensure evidence-based guidelines are applied and comply with CMS, DNV-GL, OSHA, and other standards.
• Supervise surveillance for hospital-acquired infections per NHSN guidelines.
