Job summary

Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia seeks a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Infection Prevention team at a full-time level. The role focuses on surveillance, data analysis and implementing infection control practices to protect patients and staff.

Qualified candidates have a BSN, with a preferred MSN, at least 5–6 years of clinical nursing and 1 year in Infection Prevention, plus RN licensure and CIC certification if possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs infection-related surveillance and statistical data analysis.
• Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
• Develops or assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Infection Prevention Plan.
• Conducts infection prevention audits and rounding.
• Provides feedback and guidance to leaders regarding infection prevention issues.
• Conducts outbreak investigations and identifies exposures in collaboration with Employee Health.
• Reports infection prevention findings and data to appropriate committees.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies evidence-based guidelines and regulatory standards (CMS, DNV-GL, OSHA, etc.).
• Demonstrates initiative in professional development and continuing education.
