Job summary

The Infection Preventionist -- LPN at Genesiscareers is responsible for the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) and serves as a clinician, educator and consultant across multiple centers.

Responsibilities include infection surveillance, vaccine oversight, employee health, outbreak management, and integrating IPCP with QAPI processes while supporting staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current practical or vocational nurse licensure.
• Experience in infection prevention and control preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and nights.
• Minimum three years nursing experience; LTC and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure infection prevention and control quality in patient care and report findings.
• Integrate IPCP with QAPI and participate in center quality committees.
• Develop and teach education programs on infection control needs.
• Provide infection prevention training for new hires.
• Review immunization documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee influenza and pneumococcal vaccine programs.
• Maintain infection prevention records per policy and regulation.
