Job summary

Avalon Care Center Bellingham in Washington seeks an Infection Preventionist / Director of Staff Development (LPN) to lead infection prevention and staff education in a full-time role.

You will monitor infections, provide training, coordinate onboarding, and collaborate with clinical teams to improve resident safety. A Washington LPN license and Infection Prevention certification are required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Washington LPN license (or NLC-eligible)
• Current Infection Prevention certification required
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
• Experience with staff education and training preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Post-acute care or long-term care experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control efforts throughout the facility
• Monitor, track, and investigate infections and potential outbreaks
• Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention practices
• Conduct audits and support compliance with infection control standards
• Coordinate staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education programs
• Collaborate with clinical teams to improve resident safety and outcomes
