Job summary

Baptist Health (Jacksonville) is hiring an Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention and control efforts in downtown Jacksonville. The role emphasizes surveillance, regulatory compliance, and education to improve patient safety.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in infection prevention or epidemiology, with IPC certifications in progress; RN/MPH/CIC credentials are preferred. This a full-time, in-person day-shift opportunity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Infection Prevention, Epidemiology, or related healthcare experience.
• Experience with healthcare surveillance systems and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate the Infection Prevention and Control Program with planning, reporting, and action planning.
• Conduct surveillance and analyze healthcare-associated infections using hospital epidemiology principles.
• Monitor microbiology/bacteriology reports to identify trends and recommend prevention measures.
• Investigate outbreaks and root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Deliver infection prevention education and training to healthcare teams.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance of IPC policies per CDC, TJC, and state regs.
