Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Associate Director, Infection Prevention in New York to oversee infection prevention in inpatient areas, lead surveillance activities, and manage data for infection prevention matters. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Healthcare related field (e.g., Public Health, Nursing, Public Administration).
• Active certification endorsed by the Certification Board of Infection Control (CIC) at time of hire or within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infection prevention activities in MSM, MSW, and ambulatory sites.
• Lead outbreak investigations and surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.
• Coordinate with Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director for department operations.
• Communicate with local/state health departments and regulatory entities as appropriate.
• Analyze data and prepare reports for Infection Prevention Committee and other stakeholders.
• Mentor Infection Preventionists and related staff.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, CMS, OSHA and state regulations.
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, strategic planning and departmental oversight.
• Develop policies, procedures and training related to infection prevention.
