Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Associate Director of Infection Prevention to oversee inpatient and ambulatory infection prevention activities, manage data, and support daily operations with the Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director. This role includes policy development, training, and interdepartmental collaboration to reduce infection risk.

Qualifications include a NYS nursing or related license, CIC certification within 2 years, and a master’s degree preferred.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree required in a healthcare-related field.
• Master’s Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• New York State License in Nursing or related field with current registration, if applicable.
• Active certification endorsed by the Certification Board of Infection Control (CIC) at time of hire or within 2 years of hire.

Mansioni

• Oversees infection prevention activities in inpatient areas and ambulatory sites.
• Update departmental goals, policies and procedures; review and revise as needed.
• Provide information to hospital committees to shape policies and processes.
• Interact with healthcare personnel and managers as a resource for infection prevention concerns.
• Conduct data analysis and prepare reports for Infection Prevention Committee and other stakeholders.
• Supervise construction and environment of care to ensure compliance with standards.
• Plan and execute policies and training related to emerging pathogens.
• Manage surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms.
• Assist in outbreak investigations and coordinate with environmental health and employee health teams.
• Collaborate with Infection Preventionists on data entry and analysis.
• Mentor and sponsor Infection Preventionists and fellows.
