Qualifications

• MD from an accredited university and NY medical license.
• Board certified in Infectious Diseases.
• 3+ years of adult ID experience; antimicrobial stewardship or infection prevention preferred.
• 3+ years of teaching in academic settings.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Hospital Epidemiologist and Infection Prevention leadership to develop, apply and educate Infection Prevention policies.
• Oversee surveillance activities and investigations; liaison to public health officials.
• Provide leadership and consultation for Infection Prevention-related issues across the hospital.
• Advance the department's research agenda and performance improvement activities.
• Co-chair the Infection Prevention Committee.
• Serve as SME on Infectious Diseases and Infection Prevention for patient and staff safety, quality and emergency management.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and incident command.
• Collaborate with Employee Health on pre/post-exposure protocols and vaccination campaigns.
• Coordinate with Clinical Laboratory on lab tests, susceptibility reports and new tech for stewardship.
• Collaborate with hospital epidemiologists and infection preventionists across the system.
• Communicate with Hospital Administration and unit leadership.
