Job summary

Mont Marie Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Infection Prevention Nurse to lead infection control efforts and ensure resident and staff safety. This full-time role involves surveillance, collaboration with leadership, and education to maintain compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

You will work in a team-oriented setting with a focus on quality improvement and continuous learning, including participation in the QAA committee and ongoing training to advance

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in good standing.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Associates degree in Nursing or closely related field.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control.
• CIC certification preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report trends in healthcare-associated infections to support timely intervention and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with facility leadership, clinical teams, and staff to implement and sustain effective infection prevention and control practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve safety.
• Provide staff with education and training on infection prevention practices to ensure adherence to protocols.
• Participate in the facility’s QAA committee to support continuous improvement.
• Conduct surveillance activities, audits, and assessments to monitor effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert on infection prevention guidance across the organization.

Qualifications for an Infection Prevention Nurse:

• Current nursing license in good standing.

• Associate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field required.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required.
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to educate and influence staff at all levels.
