Job summary

CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) seeks an Infection Preventionist to lead hospital-acquired infection prevention and control. The role requires knowledge of CDC guidelines, surveillance, and collaboration with clinical staff to reduce HAIs across all patient ages.

The ideal candidate will have formal training in nursing or public health, with specialized infection prevention education, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Have professional training in nursing, medical technology, public health, epidemiology, or related field.
• Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred; CIC certification preferred within 2 years of hire; APIC/SHEA membership preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in acute healthcare; 5 years for non-nurse applicants; experience in sub-acute care preferred.
• Required licensure: BLS, LA Fire Safety Card, ARC within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, report, prevent and control hospital-acquired infections among patients and staff.
• Coordinate with Infection Prevention Committee to implement isolation precautions.
• Develop and revise infection prevention policies based on evidence-based practices.
• Monitor infection indicators, review cultures, and report to Public Health as needed.
• Educate staff through in-service programs and maintain accurate infection records.
