Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando is seeking a Manager to oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program, including staffing, surveillance oversight, committee assignments and education development and policy review. The role requires leading day-to-day operations across the program and ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines.

The candidate will manage budgets, supervise staff, guide investigation of performance issues, and act as a resource to managers, physicians and facilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree as a Registered Nurse, Medical Technologist, Public Health, or other healthcare sciences/administration.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc – renewed every five years.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations for the Infection Prevention and Control department.
• Participates in systematic reviews of Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Responsible for creation, submission and management of departmental budget.
• Facilitates investigation of less than average performance for process and outcome monitors related to infection prevention and control.
• Ensures and maintains accuracy of data and information.
• Monitors workload of assigned team and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Supervises new team member orientation.
• Develops and oversees the implementation of strategies to reduce infections at hospital facilities assigned.
• Ensures implementation of the infection prevention program at hospital facilities assigned.
• Monitors compliance with Infection Prevention and Control practice, and regulatory guidelines at facilities assigned.
• Act as a resource for Orlando Health managers, physicians, committees and outpatient facilities.
• Performs surveillance as needed.
• Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
