Job summary

Colusa Medical Center in California seeks an Infection Control/Wound Care Nurse to direct the infection control and wound care programs. You will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate infection prevention efforts ensuring compliance with CDC, OSHA, and APIC guidelines.

You will educate staff, perform wound assessments, coordinate care with providers, and report surveillance data to leadership to support patient safety and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Valid LVN license in California.
• 2+ years of wound care or infection prevention preferred.
• Must obtain IPC and Wound Care certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and document wounds per protocol.
• Perform debridement, dressing changes, and wound care procedures.
• Educate staff and families on wound care management and prevention.
• Collaborate with providers to update wound care plans.
• Conduct rounds and follow up weekly with wound care provider.
• Support all duties assigned by DON/CAO.
• Implement infection control measures and isolation practices.
• Conduct infection surveillance and report to infection control committee.
• Educate staff on hand hygiene and PPE use.
• Develop infection prevention policies with DON.
• Maintain compliance with CDC/OSHA/DNV standards.
