Job summary

Community Medical Centers in Fresno, California seeks a Registered Nurse Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention activities, surveillance, and response within the long-term care setting.

You will collaborate with facility leadership to implement policies and provide education, conducting epidemiological investigations and recommending improvements to reduce transmission risks.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Certificate of Infection Prevention Training in Long Term Care Infection Control by a recognized association such as APIC or CDC required.
• 3 years of relevant experience in a Long Term Care setting required.
• RN license to practice in California required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) required.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, investigate, monitor and report the spread of diseases in the long term care facility.
• Conduct Infection Prevention surveillance to reduce transmission to residents, visitors and staff.
• Provide Infection Prevention education and conduct epidemiological investigations.
• Institute appropriate control measures or isolation procedures when there is immediate infection risk.
