Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Infection Prevention & Control Technician

This role supports MSK's Infection Prevention & Control team by conducting microbiological and molecular diagnostics. You'll manage lab data, maintain equipment, and uphold safety protocols-all while contributing to research efforts that support MSK's mission to end cancer for life.

Role Overview

Support the development of molecular diagnostic and epidemiologic tests in a lab setting.

• Collect, maintain, and catalog a library of organisms used for molecular testing.

• Perform and schedule basic molecular diagnostic techniques daily.

• Enter and manage test data using internal databases.

• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensuring compliance with operational standards.

• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to support uninterrupted lab operations.

• Follow all institutional, local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.

• Stay current with advancements in molecular diagnostics through education and literature.

• Assist with infection prevention research studies and special projects as assigned.

Key Qualifications

• 0-2 years of lab experience ideal.

• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and diagnostic procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently under moderate supervision.

• Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to data and testing procedures.

Additional Information:

• Pay Range: $23.54-$35.44

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
