Job summary

Ascension seeks an experienced Infection Control RN to lead prevention strategies, conduct active surveillance, and participate in outbreak response across high-volume hospital units. The role emphasizes collaboration with pharmacy, lab, and medical teams, and adherence to CDC guidance.

Requirements include CBIC certification within 3 years of hire and Oklahoma RN licensure, with a diploma in nursing. The position is full-time and on-site in Tulsa, OK.

Qualifications

• CBIC Infection Control certification required within 3 years of hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Oklahoma prior to hire
• RN credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing prior to hire

Responsibilities

• Conduct active surveillance and investigations to minimize catheter-associated urinary tract infections in high-volume hospital units.
• Track multidrug-resistant organisms and report data to national safety databases; enforce isolation precautions.
• Improve ER workflows with customized triage screening tools and real-time aseptic technique audits during resuscitations.
• Lead unit huddles and audit hand hygiene and PPE protocols; oversee wound care compliance on medical-surgical units.
• Coordinate outbreak response with pharmacy, laboratory and medical teams; promote antibiotic stewardship and update policies per CDC guidance.
