Job summary

PACS is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to lead and maintain the facility's infection control program in accordance with current standards and state regulations. The role involves surveillance, staff education, and coordination with the Director of Nursing Services to protect residents and staff.

Requirements include an RN license, 2+ years in a long-term care environment, and knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and standard precautions.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years experience preferably in long-term care.
• Must possess working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique including standard/universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate the facility infection control program.
• Ensure compliance with CDC/OSHA and local regulations.
• Monitor infection control practices and report findings to Nursing Services.
• Assist in surveillance of infections and preparation of reports and action plans.
• Supervise isolation precautions and aseptic techniques across departments.
