Job summary

Carolton-Chronic-Convalescent is seeking an Infection Control Director to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the infection control program in accordance with federal, state, and local standards that govern such programs.

The role includes operating an environmental surveillance program to maintain a safe environment for residents and personnel, plus reporting statistics and coordinating with the Infection Control Committee and Medical Staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection prevention standards and guidelines.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct programs.
• Experience coordinating with Medical Staff and Nursing Services.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct surveillance of nosocomial and community infections and antibiotic use.
• Monitor infections in residents and environmental conditions with infection potential.
• Implement isolation precautions, aseptic technique, and personnel health measures.
• Serve as a resource for staff education on infection control.
• Report statistics to the Director of Nursing Services and NHSN.
• Coordinate Infection Disease Consultant visits.
• Attend Medical Staff meetings and prepare reports for the Infection Control Committee.
