Carlton Nursing Home is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to oversee the facility's infection prevention program. This full-time role will research current literature, develop and implement policies, and coordinate training for healthcare staff.

Ideal candidates will have RN licensure with LTC experience, infection prevention training, and strong regulatory knowledge to monitor surveillance, report outbreaks, and drive quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience in LTC setting preferred.
• Infection prevention training strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control guidelines, OSHA and CDC requirements.
• Ability to multitask.
• Surveils activities to decrease healthcare-associated infections and improve outcomes.
• Reviews and exercises discretion during investigations of outbreaks and trends.
• Identifies and tracks nosocomial infections.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates the infection control program.
• Researches current literature to ensure infection control processes meet standards.
• Communicates compliance-related issues to appropriate parties.
• Maintains surveillance and inspection procedures to ensure procedures are followed.
• Provides consultation, education and training to healthcare personnel.
• Provides survey preparation and coordination.
• Develops and maintains policies and procedures per evidence-based standards.
