Job summary

Presbyterian Homes & Services (Maranatha) seeks an Infection Control and Prevention Specialist to monitor and advise on infection control measures in coordination with Clinical teams. The role reports to the Clinical Administrator and supports a range of care communities in Brooklyn Center, MN.

The position requires a licensed nurse and infection prevention knowledge, with opportunities to educate staff and improve safety across long-term care settings. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed nurse in the state where you practice.
• 2+ years of healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control or ability to obtain immediately after hire.
• Knowledge in infectious disease and epidemiology.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for long-term care.
• Ability to write and implement policies and procedures; apply IT skills.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CPR certification.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptable and creative.

Responsibilities

• Implement the infection prevention and control program and education.
• Coordinate, deliver and maintain infection prevention programs; conduct infection control research and act as consultant to other departments.
• Provide clinical education to employees to reduce risk of infectious disease transmission.
