Job summary

Regal Heights in New York, NY is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to lead infection prevention in our nursing home. The role focuses on policy development, surveillance, staff education, PPE usage, and collaboration with physicians and environmental services.

You will conduct outbreak investigations, ensure regulatory compliance, collect data, and contribute to quality improvement with evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• RN license in New York state is required.
• CIC certification is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience focused on infection control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection control policies according to regulations.
• Monitor HAIs, identify outbreaks, and take corrective action.
• Educate staff on infection control, hand hygiene, and PPE use.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to prevent infections.
• Participate in outbreak investigations and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with infection control guidelines.
• Collect and report infection control data to regulators.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
