Job summary

The Wellstone Group is seeking an Infection Control Coordinator to lead the infection control program in a long-term care setting. You will organize, direct, and evaluate activities to ensure the highest quality of care while aligning with current standards.

You will work under the Administrator and Nursing Director, requiring an active LPN or RN license and strong collaboration with nursing staff, committees, and support services to maintain universal precautions and surveillance programs.

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license required.
• Experience in infection control within a care facility preferred.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local guidelines for infection control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct the Infection Control Program.
• Develop and maintain infection control procedures and aseptic technique.
• Make rounds to nursing units for case findings and isolation precautions.
• Prepare monthly summaries of infections and corrective actions.
• Participate in surveillance and surveys by authorities.
