Job summary

Mimbres Valley Medical Center is seeking an Infection Control/Employee Health/Worker’s Comp Coordinator. The role leads the hospital-wide infection control program, working with department managers to implement best practices and ensure 24/7 readiness for patient care.

Requirements include an RN license with at least three years of clinical experience, infection control training, and knowledge of Joint Commission standards. The position is full-time and on-site in Deming, NM.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of three years experience as a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background.
• Knowledge and experience in patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration and epidemiology.
• NM Registered Nurse licensure. Certification in Infection Control preferred.
• Joint Commission Survey knowledge

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate the hospital-wide infection control program.
• Collaborate with department managers and staff as a consultant for infection control.
• Advise, implement and evaluate measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and community.
• Serve as Nurse Administrator on-call during off hours.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission standards.
