Job summary

UNM Hospital is seeking an Infection Control Nurse to plan, implement, and evaluate infection prevention across the MDC facility. You will educate staff, identify infection trends, and investigate control problems. The role covers neonate to geriatric care and requires leadership in data reporting.

Qualifications include NM RN licensure, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year of infection control experience. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• RN license in NM or via reciprocal NM agreement
• 1 year directly related infection control experience
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Evaluates risk of patients and staff after exposure to infectious disease.
• Develops teaching methods for universal precautions and infection control trainings.
• Coordinates the infection control program and educational classes.
• Establishes programs based on disease trends and surveillance data.
• Participates in CQI/Infection Control committees and implements action plans.
• Ensures compliance with DOH and organizational infection control requirements.
