Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter is seeking an Infection Control Coordinator to lead the hospital-wide infection prevention program. The role involves surveillance, data analysis, staff education, and collaboration across departments to minimize infection risks.

The candidate will oversee immunization programs, respond to outbreaks, and ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance. A CIC within two years is required, with RN licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in infection prevention/epidemiology or related field.
• CIC certification required within two years of hire and RN license preferred.
• Regulatory/accreditation knowledge and ability to educate staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates a hospital-wide infection prevention program.
• Conducts active surveillance of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
• Presents infection control data to medical staff committees and leadership.
• Collaborates with departments to develop infection control policies and protocols.
• Educates staff on infection prevention practices, PPE, and hand hygiene.
• Oversees immunization and TB skin testing programs.
• Investigates outbreaks and coordinates containment with hospital depts and external agencies.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of infection prevention standards.
