Job summary

Katmai seeks a Training Specialist to conduct prep for Infantry Immersion Training, crafting TTP-based scenarios linked to METLs and training objectives. You will collaborate with unit training teams to define required tasks and scriptables for realistic exercises.

The role emphasizes evaluating performance, recommending improvements, and guiding leaders in decision points to boost readiness. Travel is expected occasionally and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum four years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at squad through company level.
• Familiarity with SAT, scenario development, exercise design and T&R requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support during Infantry Immersion Training and assist observers/controllers.
• Coordinate pre-event planning with the training unit and ensure prerequisites are understood.
• Design training scenarios linked to objectives and METLs and advise on resources.
• Develop task linkage to support objectives and script actions into training documents.
• Create training scenarios enabling commanders to meet PTP objectives.
• Review training standards and provide input on tactical employment considerations.
• Observe actions, cue events, and provide performance assessments to command.
• Lead discussions with commanders to determine decision points and options for learning.
